If you’re buying or renting property in Germany house or apartment you absolutely need to know about the Energieausweis, or energy performance certificate. This isn’t just some bureaucratic box-ticking exercise; it’s mandatory for most property deals now. Essentially, it clearly spells out the building’s energy efficiency rating.
